Wednesday Morning!

Please go to a school site Wednesday morning to support the teachers. They'll be picketing at the secondary schools (YHS, YHS-9, PVMS, and CMS) at about 7:00, and at the elementary schools about 8:00. Show them that you support them!

If you want information about THEIR point of view, instead of the propaganda the district puts out, go to their blog: yucaipateacher. So far, we've seen two letters to the editor where the writer got all of his information from the district, and then criticized the teachers. Of COURSE the information is going to be in favor of the district! Go get the other point of view before you make up your mind. Thanks.

Is the author of the opinion piece in the Sun (Scott Smith) any relation to the principal of the 9th grade campus (Sherry Smith), who is also on the District's negotiating team? Hmmm...

As a parent in this district, I feel that we need to take our schools back from the narrow-minded school board. It is so sad to see how angry my child's teacher has become; but I understand, considering that the teachers have not had a raise in over two years. It is the future and education of my child that the school board is toying with, they need to fix this before it gets any worse. I keep hearing about teachers leaving - who will be left to teach our kids?

Thank you PIST for all of your support and understanding during this time of our management having a collective misjudgement.

Another THANK YOU from a teacher and a parent. Yes, we are tired. Yes, we are angry. But no, we WON'T give up. We will Persevere!

The parent involved with informing the parents for Meadow Creek was told the other day to quit handing out her flyers unless she was standing on the sidewalk....this is what teachers are up against daily, parents.
Please support our teachers!

How long have the member's of the board been there?? A long time?? I think it is time for a new start.. I'll run for a position.. And all of you no who I am.. It has recently come to my attention that there is a brand new high school sitting empty in Calimesa.. DUH!! Tax payer's money hard at work?? Oh! and another thing, The money the board voted to put out for the turf (SOD) at the high school, the board probably got it for free and went to Las Vegas with the money...
The high school is over populated.. I am a classified sub at the high school, You need to open that new high school this upcoming year or else these kid's are going to feel like sardine's..
WOW! Thanks for letting me put my feeling's out there for all to see.. I would love to be the head-coach for the new highschool's football team.. Look me up..

My children went through the Yucaipa schools K-12. I could not have asked for a better education and opportunities for them. I don't want to see the students in this district not have the same quality education that mine received. It takes parents to stand up for what they want for their children; its the parents who have to commit to seeking the best for their children. We are losing great teachers to other districts because they have to take care of themselves and their families. All the District's proclamations about how great the teachers are doesn't put food on their tables nor pay their bills. I don't know of any other occupation that is expected to watch others in the same occupation earning $10K to $16K A YEAR more and not question why they are worth less because they work in Yucaipa? Can't blame them for looking elsewhere.
